Psychological Guidance Division
The Unit's Tasks:
1. Annual Planning: Propose the annual plan for educational guidance and psychological support for the college, working to implement it throughout the academic year. Faculty members from all departments will be consulted, and the plan will be presented to them for topic selection.
2. Coordination of Activities: Plan, monitor, and coordinate all psychological and social activities, events, and programs conducted at the college, whether by the Ministry of Higher Education or any governmental or private organization, such as cooperation with relevant directorates.
3. Workshops and Seminars: Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness lectures to address current issues that students may face at the university, whether psychological, educational, or social.
4. Identifying Issues: Recognize most psychological and behavioral problems that may affect anyone affiliated with the university (students, faculty, staff) and provide timely assistance through scientifically-based counseling interviews.
5. Support for New Students: Assist new students in adapting to and integrating into the university environment quickly and easily by informing them about the unit's services and meeting their needs in coordination with student affairs.
6. Individual Counseling: Provide individual counseling to students facing social, educational, or psychological issues that require support and prevention to avoid escalation, with the counselor available for individual guidance .
7. In cases of repeated absences by a student, and after following up with the Registration Department, academic difficulties will be assessed and addressed individually.
8. Organize seminars and lectures that address student issues with preventive and developmental goals.
9. Ensure the confidentiality of the information provided by students to the academic advisor, whether personal or sensitive.
10.Assist students in discovering their identity by helping them recognize their abilities, readiness, interests, and skills, as well as understanding the challenges they face, regardless of their nature.
11.Enhance and develop students' decision-making skills and encourage them to deliver awareness lectures to their peers.
12.Foster students' ability to engage in dialogue, consultation, and express their opinions freely and responsibly.
13.Gather information about students with physical and health issues, document it in special records, and coordinate with administrative and educational entities to assist these students in adapting to university life.

The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Science for Girls, University of Babylon, aims to be unique and distinguished in providing psychological support and personal and educational guidance to female students. It seeks to contribute to the development of the educational environment to achieve the maximum potential of students, fostering their skills and independence.
Mission:
The mission of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Science for Girls, University of Babylon, is to provide comprehensive and specialized support to students in the fields of psychology and educational guidance. This aims to continuously promote their mental and social health, develop their educational and personal skills, guide them toward making appropriate decisions for their professional and personal futures, and help them overcome challenging tasks, circumstances, and challenges. The unit also strives to enhance the educational environment to maximize students' potential and develop their skills and independence for a bright future.
Gouls:
1. Provide specialized psychological counseling services to female students to help them cope with the psychological and emotional challenges they may face during their studies and to resolve these issues using available resources.
2. Conduct practical workshops, courses, and awareness seminars on mental health issues and social relationships, focusing on effective coping strategies.
3. Develop programs and workshops that enhance critical thinking, learning, and communication skills among female students.
