The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. The institution is made up of 21 colleges spread across three main locations in Hilla. The central university campus is in the medical colleges complex in the center of Hilla -Al-Iskan.

The Minister of Higher Education chaired a meeting with the University of Iraq's council and emphasized the importance of the university's administrative departments in achieving academic goals and improving performance indicators. The minister revealed that performance indicators for the university's administrative departments will be reviewed and evaluated based on the infrastructure and development areas. The minister also stressed that the efficiency of university leadership is reflected in the academic environment and the percentage of goals achieved within the planned framework. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is working to provide legal and procedural solutions to adapt available resources and face developmental challenges.
