The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. The institution is made up of 21 colleges spread across three main locations in Hilla. The central university campus is in the medical colleges complex in the center of Hilla -Al-Iskan.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboodi, met with the Egyptian Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Walid Mohamed Ismail, to discuss collaboration in scientific and academic domains. They focused on the "Study in Iraq" initiative, aiming to facilitate admission for Arab and foreign students in Iraqi universities. Iraqi universities are prepared to offer scholarships to non-Iraqi students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies. The Egyptian Ambassador expressed support for this initiative and proposed activating joint student exchange programs between the two nations.
